Deborah Walker

Please allow me to introduce myself. I am Deborah. 50 years old and a self taught artist. Born and bred in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. A mother to 7 beautiful children, and Grandmother to 4, nearly 5 amazing little monsters.

I took up drawing after the loss of my sister. Which, as you can imagine was a difficult time for all of us, and drawing became my therapy. Also, being dyslexic as well, always meant words were never my forte, But, thankfully i can now tell my story through my artwork.

Right now though, i am only at the beginning of my artistic journey, and albeit scared at the prospect of running my own business and putting my work out there for all to see, i cherish every moment while it lasts.

My technique, medium, aim and inspiration.

First of all welcome to my site. I am a realism artist, which means that the majority of my works are detailed, accurate depictions of nature captured through my eyes. I am self taught and i take my tutoring from other artists past & present. Which entails a lot of research and detailed studies.

Nature and beauty is all around us, and my aim is to capture it in all its glory, while keeping an element of artistic marksmanship for many to enjoy in the years to come.

Most of my inspiration comes from the well renowned artistic greats, John Constable, and J M W Turner. Their inspiration resides behind the majority of my artistic endeavours. Although, In contrast to their mediums, i prefer to use pencils, Ink and paper, rather than oil paints and canvas.

All of my works are one off original pieces. Every detail and mark created with my own hands. I will never print previous artworks. So no piece will ever be replicated. You can be assured that you will be purchasing an Original piece that has been drawn/painted, signed and dispatched by myself, the artist.

Each piece also comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
